Photowalks... Yeah, I Blew It

I don't know if I've missed one week, or two... and today I kind of don't care. I made a lot of you do this with me, because I thought it would help keep me accountable, but... well, here I am. Photowalkless.

Well, not exactly photowalkless... it did take this picture at a gas station. I did 3 photo shoots yesterday, and I've done others recently and have others scheduled. I'll just have to make sure that my camera comes out of the bag some other times too, and when that happens I'll share.

Maybe I'll end up with around 52 by the end of the year, maybe I won't. ;)

52 Photowalks: Week 11 (Olivia's Baptism)

Last weekend Aubrey, Cooper and I drove out to Olivia's baptism. What a great day! I'm so proud of Livi! Olivia does NOT like to smile for photos. You have to be pretty sneaky with this girl... I'm actually pretty happy with what I captured, so I thought it would be good for my photowalk. (There are quite a few more, Jas... I'll get you a disc and you can edit them all how you'd like to. :)
There's a lot to contemplate before you get baptized.
Sisters. :) I love these girls! Aubrey did Ashley's hair and I did Livi's.
My two favorite photos of the day... I really proud of my brother, Jason. He's a good man, and a good dad. You can see how much his kids love him.

Donovan wasn't sporting any other looks besides ornery disgust, so it's a good thing he looks so darn cute no matter what! I wish I could keep that boy, but I'm afraid his mom and dad are waaaay too attached to him for me to be able to sneak off. Darn it.
Olivia with her uncle Adam.
Jason and his sweet, beautiful wife, Dallas. I love that girl. :)
And since it's rare for me to turn up in photos, I had to put this one on here. Thanks, Adam, for being the photographer.

Congratulations Olivia!! I love you! Thanks for all the hugs and snuggles and for being such a great niece. :)

More For My Girls... Prom Style

For My Girls (Week 10)

What young girl doesn't love trying on wedding gowns? We had such a fun time, and they all looked beautiful! I'll have more photos up later, but hopefully this will hold you for a bit, girls! :)

52 Photowalks: Week 9

I made Brandon take me for a drive this week for the photo"walk"... and he didn't mind at all. He's always ready to go for a drive. He even took me out to lunch at a little cafe out in the middle of nowhere. What a great day! When we were driving past frozen Pelican Lake I saw my opportunity. The colors were calling to me, so we stopped, and I shot.

This ice was frozen solid. It looked scary, but I ventured out after Brandon jumped up and down numerous times. (Apparently he's not been so lucky every time he's tried that in the past...)

Couldn't decide which edit I liked better...

We drove past some curious wild horses.

I got this one on the sly... he wouldn't let me take more after that. I tried to get him to go somewhere with better light... I mean, look at his eyes with the sky!!... but he was having none of it. Party pooper. He's all great at encouraging my photography until the camera is pointed at him. ;)

52 Photowalks: Week 8

Okay, this photo has nothing to do with photography, but since it's the only one I took during week 8, I'm going to use it. If nothing else, it's good for a laugh. This is what I looked like after my 6 mile run in the fog. I knew my eyelashes were iced over, because I could see it, but when I got back to my car and realized that my eyebrows were also icicles, and my face was covered in ice, and my hair was white, I had to take a picture with my phone. No wonder that guy parked on the side of the road was laughing at me...

52 Photowalks: Week 7 ST. GEORGE!

Okay, I totally know what you're thinking... yaaaaawn. A bazillion photos of someone's blah blah blah blah vacation... BORing. So, I promise I'll do my best to make it interesting... but I won't blame you if you click to another blog right.... hello? hello? Where did you go? I wanted a black and white, but none of the photos I took were very good for b&w... except this one. I like this one best in b&w. You know how frustrating it is to try to capture what you see? I mean, there's all of this amazing huge grandeur and a picture just looks so... eh.
Just in case you like your world in vivid color... here it is.
I did NOT want to come back from St. George. I still don't want to be back, really. Who would want to when you've been in perfect weather relaxing with not a care in the world? We had no set agenda, nothing we had to do... just time together doing whatever we wanted to do. The weather was mid 60s and sunny. What bliss. Sigh.
There were running trails everywhere... beautiful, no ice, no dodging cars, no snow, no frostbite... trails. We went running a couple of times, and it was heavenly. We got some good giggles out of the people running with gloves on. Snort. I could've run naked and felt perfectly comfortable... well, you know what I mean.
We ate. And ate. And wanted to eat some more, but we just didn't have enough meals to go all of the places we wanted to. When the main restaurant attraction where you live is Cafe Rio, you go a little crazy in a "city". I had ice cream for lunch three times. Nielsons Frozen Custard... Cold Stone... Cold Stone. Excuse me while I wipe the drool off of my keyboard.
Brandon likes to stand on ledges. I guess that's a good sign that he really really trusts me.
We went to Target. That's like one of the most exciting things I can think of to do. I love Target. We also went to the mall, and the outlet malls, and bookstores, and an urban antique furniture store, and... anywhere we could think of. Our one rule was that we couldn't go anyplace that was also in Vernal... luckily that ruled out only five places.
I like Brandon's creative photography... or maybe I was standing sideways. I can't remember.
I loved just being able to walk around together... no coats, no freezing, no whining... Oh, we needed this trip!
We went to a session at the temple... and what a gorgeous temple this is! It's SO white. I couldn't decide if it was whiter than other temples, or if I was just used to looking at Vernal's temple.
And... we went to church with Brandon's cousin Haley (wonderful meeting with an AMAZING musical number). It was fun to visit with Haley for awhile... and we figured all of that church-going made up for all the drinking we did. JUST KIDDING, NANCY... we didn't touch the beer in the fridge!
We stayed in a friend's 5th wheel all of the nights except the first night, and it was wonderful! Comfy, nice, and the price was perfect. We had to stay in the b&b we had reserved for the first night, because it was too late to get out of it. It was quaint, it was right in town, and the breakfast was delicious... so it wasn't too annoying that we had to keep that reservation.
This house was just down the street from the b&b. I'm SO in love with it. Like head over heels in love with it. Like I should marry it, I'm so in love with it.
We're thinking that we could paint our house the same and it would look very similar. It has kind of the same style. And if we could ever do rooms up in the attic it could look even more like this house. The front door was so cool... it was the kind that open top and bottom separately if you want.
I love the cleanness of it... the freshness, the uncluttered look... the charm. I wanted to go knock on the door to see if I could see inside, because I'm positive that it's equally as charming, but I didn't dare. Plus, it would've crushed me if it wasn't everything I hoped it would be, so now I can just know in my head that it's perfect.
Well... if you're still hanging in there, looking at the bazillion photos and listening to my chatter, you must either be really really bored, or you really really love me.
I really loved our trip to St. George... and I have to especially thank Holly and Grandma Lynda and Grandpa Lauritz, who loved, fed, shopped with, and played with my children. Oh, and cut my boys' hair. THAT was a blessing and a half, let me tell you!
Holly really stepped in and took over when plans didn't go exactly as... well, planned. Thank you so much, Holly! You're an amazing aunt, and we love you!
So now it's back to reality... freezing temperatures, Brandon sleepless and gone, house to clean, kids to feed, clothes to wash. and fold. and put away.
I wanted to cry a few times when we were driving back home.
I guess that means it was a really good vacation. :)
