Hip Hop is For Young'Uns

I went to the Hip Hop class at the gym today, and let me tell you... I could not make my moves look like the teacher's! I looked like some weird person trying to bust a move. Napolean Dynamite can dance circles around me! I was actually looking in the mirror thinking that maybe I'm too skinny to do hip hop (the teacher had nice curves), because there has to be some reason that I CAN'T DANCE!

well, right now i just want to cry for you cause you ARE too skinny. you poor thing! i would much rather sport my cottage cheese, rolly polly body than your cute little toned one!!!! your a POOP! oh, and i still can't dance even with the curves!

Haley, you made me laugh out loud! Well, crap, if it's not the lack of curves, then I guess I have to go with what I chose for the title of this post... because I'm TOO OLD! Eek! And I said I was too skinny for hip hop because I seriously looked like a chicken or something trying to do those moves!

Janice, it was fun! I figure there needs to be someone there to make everyone else feel better, right? That's me. Always there to help everyone else feel hip.

Yay, wish too skinny was my problem instead of the opposite. Anyway, Cami died in Feb of a mixture of pain and anti-depressants...both prescribed to her. She passed away in her sleep. It was sad and very unexpected.

Hip hop really DOES look cuter if you're a bit curvier... take it from me- I used to TEACH it. And I always thought I looked like a rubber chicken. Skinny people should stick to ballet and contemporary if they're worried what they look like. But it IS fun... I'll give you that. :0)

I took hip hop for three years and loved it. I thought it was my best style of dancing. There were girls that had danced longer then me and they just couldn't get it. I think you can either move like that or you can't. I don't think you can really teach someone to move like that.

that is hilarious! I totally want to try that class sometime! I just wish they didn't have the mirrors!

Hey Mindy,
This is Kandace (Cassie's friend). I have to check your blog every now and then to see how the Smith family is doing. The last time I checked you had a whole post about Cassie that really made me homesick. The Hip Hop thing makes me laugh because I don't even dare try it. My friends love to dance, so they prefer that class, but I won't even get close to it--I don't think my body can even come close to moving that way...
