In Support of Sister Beck

I wanted to say, that I am a mother who knows, or rather a mother who is striving to know, who wants to know. There are some women who think they know (http://whatwomenknow.org/), but who don't get the big picture, who don't understand how to take some counsel from a servant of God and apply it to their lives.

There is eternal influence and power in motherhood. Of that I have no doubt. I want to thank Julie B. Beck for her braveness, boldness, and for saying what she is inspired to say. Her talk inspires me to be better, instead of making me want to justify the things I'm doing that are not right.

Amen to that. I, too, thought her talks from conference were very bold, but she said what needed to be said.

I am so glad that you posted this. Melissa told me about the big controversy this morning, so since I had not heard conference or since had a chance to read the talk I did so immediately after. I then went and read the http:/whatwomenknow.org comments and looked at the list of people in support of it.It made me sick to see that many people taking her talk so wrong, in my opinion and the way I felt from the talk. I have been sick about it all day, and trying to think of a way to show her I support her and the things she said. I think what you have done here is an excellent beginning in what needs to happen. THank you. Hannah

Thanks for posting this, Mindy. I am trying to be a Mother Who Knows. It was my favorite talk of conference and rather than feeling slighted by the message, I felt it was empowering--guiding me to make choices that will benefit the most important thing in the world, MY FAMILY. Shouldn't we rejoice in learning ways that Heavenly Father has given us to be successful in this difficult and scary undertaking. I say, what a blessing! Thank you, Sister Beck.
